Dancer in the Coemergent Mirror

Vajrayogini and the Five Wisdoms

Vajrayogini

Note on Accommodations: We still have space in our shared dorm rooms, shrine room floor, and tents. Unfortunately, our private rooms are no longer available.

Vajrayogini is an embodiment of our own indestructible wakeful nature. We invite you to practice the Vajrayogini sadhana infused with the practices of Maitri Space Awareness and the five buddha family wisdoms under the guidance of the Dorje Loppon, Lodro Dorje.

Visualization
First, we will work to deepen the practice of visualization, and of the provocative, profound and skillful Vajrayogini visualization in particular - the inner and the outer mandalas.

Coemergent Liberation
Second, a principal way to tame oneself in vajrayana is to develop the skill of coemergent liberation. Accordingly we will exploit the root conflicting emotions as a path to discovering the underlying five wisdoms and their power. We will augment practice of the Vajrayogini mandala with Maitri Space awareness practice, which is a complementary approach to direct experience of heightened neurosis and coemergent liberation.

Sampannakrama
Third we will introduce sampannakrama instruction leading to direct experience of the mahamudra nature of mind.

Guru Yoga
Fourth, we will explore guru yoga, showing the inseparability of the lineage presence, the the yidam mandala presence, and the nature of one's own mind.

A Useful Resource
In addition to the Vajrayogini Practice manual and the Vidyadhara's tris, practitioners may find valuable the Loppon’s (third printing) re-republished text Dancer in the Coemergent Mirror. Based on the oral instructions of the Vidyadhara Chogram Trungpa Rinpoche and other masters in our lineage, the Loppon presented three Vajrayogini intensive training retreats at Karme Choling from 1998-2001. Fourteen talks were compiled into this text, which offers a lucid compendium on yidam practice, enriched by many excerpts from the Vidyadhara, Thrangu Rinpoche, Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, and tri passages from the Vajra Regent and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche.

The text can be ordered here: Dancer in the Comergent Mirror
