Shambhala encourages SGS Staff and staff from the Shambhala Land Centers to participate in group and solitary retreats. Free tuition is provided to attend core assemblies and retreats at land centres (retreats such as Weekthuns, Dathuns, Way of Shambhala Intensives, etc.). Participating land centres are Dechen Chöling, Dorje Denma Ling, Karmê Chöling, Drala Mountain Center, Sky Lake, and Casa Werma.

Staff are still expected to pay for room & board and program material fees.
