Another 10-day Solitary Retreat Raffle

It turns out that raffling a 10-day Solitary Retreat is something I’m pretty good at. It’s a skill that caught me by surprise, frankly. Like my knack for being profoundly unskilled at fixing cars.

So now we’re doing another raffle. Can you believe it? And why not? Forty-one people entered the drawing last fall. And while only one person won the 10-day Solitary Retreat, 40 more applied the entry fee toward their next program at Karmê Chöling. And we have a great program calendar on the books that I think you’ll like very much.

So that’s it! We’re doing it. Another 10-day Solitary Retreat raffle is now officially launched. Blow the conches in fanfare! And reflect on how skillfully I lay out the rules.

Tickets must be purchased by April 25.

To make it competitive, and to ensure the cabin program benefits, there must be at least six participants. The entry fee is $100, the same as last fall. You can put that $100 toward your next KCL program if you don’t win.

All solitary retreat practitioners must meet the following criteria:

• Have an established daily meditation practice of at least one year;
• Completion of a half-dathün or two weekthüns; if you have attended just one weekthün, you may also qualify if you have the recommendation of BOTH your meditation instructor and the retreat master;
• You have presented a letter of recommendation from your meditation instructor if it is your first solitary retreat;
• You are willing to have a conversation with Karmê Chöling’s Retreat Master, who I hear is a clever raffler and
• Retreats already booked are not eligible for the drawing.
• The Retreats Team will select the winner at random. The people at YouTube have already agreed to let us announce the results on their platform April 26. We’ll send you a link.
• The winner has a year to book their retreat. Let’s say, May 1, 2025. Other raffle participants must apply their $100 entry fee to a KCL program by the same date.
