In the time of the winter solstice, it is natural to reflect on the past year, gather the insights it offers and envision the new year ahead.

Join Eve Rosenthal and Basia Solarz during this time of transition for a long weekend of meditation, reflection, conversation and embodiment practices in the winter wonderland of Karmê Chöling!

This retreat will have a gentle structure, open to people of all physical abilities and any degree of experience with meditation. It will include Tai Chi exercises, practices that awaken direct perception as well as opportunities for conversation and connection with nature.

This retreat will take place concurrently with a program by and for teens and young adults. There will be opportunities for the groups to come together for shared activities throughout.

Note For Shambhala Community: Warrior Assembly practices will be offered as an option during retreat.

Eve Rosenthal

Eve’s journey with the dharma began in 1973. She met Chögyam Trungpa that same year. Originally from New York City, she was Resident Director of Shambhala Training there in the 1980s and began teaching Shambhala Training and Buddhadharma at that time. Eve moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1990, and began to teach and lead a wide range of Shambhala and Buddhist programs in North America, Europe, and South America. She was an acharya (senior teacher) in the Shambhala community from 2005-2020.

She holds a doctorate in Computer Science and had a career teaching information technology and as a systems analyst for international financial institutions. Combining her technology skills and her aspiration to make dharma more accessible and connect our global community, Eve founded Shambhala Online in 2006. A longtime practitioner and teacher of T’ai Chi, she also enjoys playing the piano.
