Mudra Space Awareness
An Online Introduction
Everyone is welcomed!
Join us for a three-hour dive into the illuminating mind-body practice of Mudra Space Awareness. This introduction will explore what Mudra Space Awareness is and how we practice it.
The three-hour session will include:
- Mudra Being practice
- Mudra intensifications (Lizard and/or Generosity)
- Contemplation of Mudra slogans
- Sharing and discussion
- Sensory explorations
Mudra is a powerful practice and training originally taught by Tibetan Buddhist master Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche to students in the 1970s. It helps the practitioner grow more familiar with the unfamiliar groundlessness of now.
The practice invites us to inhabit our bodies and the present moment through body postures called intensifications and exploratory activities, called clinics. Intensifications and all of Mudra’s exploratory activities cut through ego and discursive mind, stabilizing one’s experience in the present moment.
Unlike meditation practice that can be still and quiet, Mudra includes movement, muscular intensity, sound, and play. Mudra is always done in groups and usually in-person. Our online classes are relatively new since COVID.
If you are new to Mudra, and would like to attend a Mudra weekend or retreat as an online participant, this 3-hour introduction is a prerequisite. Our next weekend Mudra retreat, which will be offered for both in-person and online participants, will be Mudra Space Awareness: The Power of Authentic Gesture June 23-25. Attending this 3-hour introduction and practice session will qualify you to join the June retreat via Zoom.
This will be an opportunity for all of us to enjoy Mudra practice together as we deepen into our bodies and the present moment. Please join us!
