Awake in the World
Meditation in Nature 6-Day Retreat

A brilliant, inner world is waiting to be discovered when we open our senses to nature. Join contemplative ecologist Donna Williams and Tai Chi teacher Joseph Pascutazz for a spacious retreat in the wilds of Karmê Chöling, where the living forest meets and awakens the mind.
Slow down and let the present moment unfold its wonders — the music of Stevens River, the alertness of deer in high grass, or the sight of your reflection in the eye of a salamander. Open to Earth’s energy, which cuts through concepts and returns us to our inherent, natural sanity.
Through Tai Chi, we will work with the five senses as they manifest as Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Wood. Through movement, alignment, and visualization we will reconnect with the primordial energies of nature.
There will be tasty meals, foraging, energetic postures and movement, outdoor meditations, spontaneous walks and pleasant conversation. Leave with a sense of restoration and invigoration.
We are also offering this as a Weekend Meditation-in-Nature Retreat.

Donna Williams has taught in the Shambhala tradition for many years. Presently she is developing a Contemplative Ecology program which complements her appreciation and enjoyment of the forests and mountains of her home in Vermont. For the past 12 years she has spent time in Santiago and Copiapo, Chile teaching and staffing programs. Her interests include gardening and growing native dye plants and practicing Shibori (a Japanese inspired textile art). Her 3 grown children live in the West and she hopes to spend more time “out” there.

Joseph Pascutazz has practiced and taught the Taoist Internal Arts f0r thirty years. Joseph lives at Karmê Chöling, a Buddhist retreat center in Barnet, Vermont—where he makes art, meditates, and enjoys the trees and greenery and so on...
