Wendell Beavers is a Meditation Instructor and has been practicing meditation in the Shambhala Buddhist lineage since 1985. A dancer, choreographer and theater director; he founded the MFA Theater: Contemporary Performance Program at Naropa University in 2004 and is a Naropa University emeritus professor. A founding faculty and former Director of New York University’s Experimental Theater Wing he has taught throughout the United States and Europe. He continues to write and perform an evolving form of embodied poetics under the auspices of Somatic Performer, the company he shares with his partner Erika Berland.
