The Karmê Chöling Programs Department always has a few projects in the air, which any circus performer will tell you is the defining feature of the world’s greatest juggling acts.

Being a throw-caution to the wind type, I’ve smuggled some of them out of the programs office. I share them with you with the caveat that none of these programs are done deals. Yet. When you see them land on the website, you’ll know the dates are firm.

March 20 – June 25: The Three Lords of Materialism are constantly enticing us into traps of body, speech and mind. Take a quick look at any newsfeed or social media site and you will see the fruits of their labor. These tricksters of Samsara want us to believe we’ve got the answers — THE thing, idea or state of mind — that will solve it all for ourselves and others. What’s really happening is that we’re being duped again and again into repeating the same karmic cycles with the same klesha eruptions that keep us enmeshed in the suffering of Samsara

April 4: Parinirvana Day — The traditional observance of the anniversary of the passing of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

April 3-4: Sadhana of Mahamudra Community Weekend — an offering from the Rupa Acharya Suzann Duquette. This program is an exploration of the relevance of the Sadhana of Mahamudra in our lives. The text and practice contain essence teachings for Western culture on overcoming obstacles and the degraded spiritual practices in our time.

TENTATIVE: May 6 – 9: Mudra Space Awareness — Tentatively set for May. These intensive physical sensory exercises were first introduced at Karmê Chöling by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. The teachers of this program have spent the past decades deepening their understanding of the profundity of these teachings.

TENTATIVE How to Lead Strategically — Tentatively set for June-August, this three month series is based on the teachings of third-century Chinese strategist Zhuge Liang. Developed with Dr. Eva Wong, the program draws on her upcoming book “The Collected Writings of Zhuge Liang – A Handbook of Strategy, Leadership, and Statecraft.” Taught by Acharya Suzann Duquette and Jane Arthur.
