Payment Policy

Paying for Programs

To hold your spot in a program and put you in the queue for housing assignment, a deposit or full payment is required at the time you register. Program deposits are calculated as 50% of the total estimated fee (including tuition, room, and board) based on first choice of accommodation type.

Cancellation & Refund Policy:

  1. Until two weeks before the start date of a program:
    1. A fee of 5% of the deposit amount will be charged.
    2. The deposit, less the 5% cancellation fee, is refundable.
    3. Additional amounts paid over and above the deposit may be refunded
  2. Within two weeks of the program start date:
    1. The cancellation fee is 15% of the deposit amount.
    2. The deposit, less the 15% cancellation fee, is held as credit against a future program.
    3. The remainder of the balance paid will be held as credit against a future program
  3. On or after the start date of the program:
    1. The deposit is not refundable or transferable.
    2. Any money paid over and above the deposit is held by KCL as credit which can be used for another program. The credit expires two years from the date of cancellation.
  • If registering within two weeks of the program start date, 100% of the program price is required.
  • Outstanding balances are due two weeks before the program start date.
  • A $50 charge will be added to your balance for:
    • Failure to pay your outstanding balance in full by two weeks prior to the program start date. This does not apply to materials fees, housing changes, or if you already have a payment plan approved and in place.
    • Registering for a program on or after the program arrival day.
  • If you have an existing outstanding balance or a payment plan in process, you are required to pay for the new program in full no later than two weeks prior to the program arrival date.
  • Financial aid or scholarships must be approved and in place two weeks before the program

Program Credit

  • If using existing program credit to pay for your program:
    • You must pre-register at least two weeks before the start of the program by contacting the KCL Front Desk.
    • Program credit may not be used to pay for housing or practice materials and may not be used on or after arrival day.

Payment Plan

An interest-free payment plan is available to anyone who requests one. Installments vary based on individual need. The guidelines for establishing a payment plan are as follows:

  • Payment plans must be established no later than two weeks prior to the program arrival date.
  • A deposit in the amount of 50% of the full program price is required before or at the time of requesting a payment plan.
  • Payments are made in monthly installments and must be completed within 6 months from the time the payment plan begins.
  • To be eligible for a payment plan, any and all outstanding balances must be paid and any previous payment plans should be paid off.
    • Participants who do not meet these eligibility requirements must pay for any new program in full no later than two weeks prior the start of the program.
  • Contact the KCL Front Desk to arrange a payment plan.

  • Solitary Cabin Retreats:
    • A $35 fee will be charged for the following:
      • All cancellations
      • A change in retreat dates by one month or more
    • Deposits and payments are refundable up to six weeks prior to the program start date minus the $35 cancellation fee.
    • For cancellations within six weeks of the retreat start date deposits are non-refundable except under extenuating circumstances (such as illness or death in the family), in which case the deposit can be applied as transferable credit or be refunded to you.
