Karmê Chöling is one of the oldest retreat centers in North America and located in the beautiful green hills of rural Vermont. We are at a nexus in our development, having successfully introduced a long term residential program geared primarily to householders. This is an exciting time to join us, both in vision for the center as well as in changes reflecting our new direction.
We currently have a Director of Operations position open. The director of operations needs to be a well-seasoned practitioner; one who through speech and action is able to implement the vision of a kind and caring society. Through mundane tasks and day-to-day interactions with staff and residents this vision is made manifest. This live-in position will manage various departments and their resources, including the kitchen, facilities, the garden, IT and special projects. The director of operations needs to be comfortable working with multiple departments and have a degree of familiarity with commercial kitchens, the various systems involved with a large structure, as well as an IT network.
