Scorpion Seal Retreat Cabins

The Sakyong, Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche, opened the path to the Scorpion Seal retreat to all qualified Shambhala practitioners during the Vajra Garchen retreat at Karmê Chöling on June 16, 2008. The Scorpion Seal retreat is part of the highest level of Shambhala teachings of the Druk Sakyong, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

Through the blessings of the lineage, the tremendous generosity of our donors and the exertion and devotion of countless beings the cabin was completed in November 2010. We want to thank most particularly the architect on the project, Ms. Gina Stick and her team of Mr. Bob Rader and Mr. David Quinn. Their ability to translate the vision for this retreat into a building design to support this profound practice was fundamental to creating this potent cabin. We also want to thank Dr. Eva Wong, Mr. Steve Vosper and Mr. David Garrett for their most helpful contributions to the process. We also thank Adam Pattantyus and Greg Garner for making it so! A special "thank you" goes to the Ashe Acharya, John Rockwell, who held the vision on behalf of the Sakyong and attended to every detail as the cabin was being built. Lastly, but most importantly, we thank the Dorje Dradul and Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche for offering the vision of Shambhala at this time.
