Those who have completed a dathün, an intermediate level of Buddhist classes and the beginning levels of Shambhala Training are invited to deepen their study and practice of Shambhala Buddhist teachings.
Sutrayana Seminary includes in-depth training in the hinayana and mahayana teachings as well as meditation practice. Meals will be served oryoki-style from the Zen tradition, and regular individual meditation instruction will be offered. Prerequisites apply. Students interested in attending Seminary must apply for and be accepted to the program before registering.

This program is a prerequisite for Vajrayana Seminary.
Since Sutrayana Seminary is a Shambhala International program, Karmê Chöling discounts do not apply. However, scholarships are available for students who require financial assistance. Shambhala International uses a financial assistance fund, which is allocated based on financial need. If you need financial assistance to attend this program, please fill out a financial assistance application after you have submitted your application.
Sutrayana Seminary begins with a welcome and orientation at 8pm on Sunday, February 7th. It concludes with a celebratory banquet on the evening of Tuesday, February 23rd. Wednesday, February 24th is a departure day. If

It is traditional for students to offer a monetary gift to the teacher in appreciation for receiving
the teachings, and in recognition of the years of training and understanding the teacher has cultivated.

About Acharya Suzann Duquette:
Suzann Duquette has been a student and leader in the Shambhala Buddhist community for more than thirty years. Previously director of Karmê Chöling, Suzann is currently core faculty for Mukpo Institute and Senior Teacher in Residence at Karmê Chöling. Suzann is an Acharya in the lineage of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and is a member of the Denma Translation Group, which published The Art of War--A New Translation. She lives with her husband, Jan, in Barnet, where she runs Blue Skies Guesthouse, a local B&B. Suzann teaches throughout the United States and in Canada and Europe.
About Acharya Michael Greenleaf:
Acharya Michael Greenleaf began his dharma practice as a teenager after meeting a senior student from Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche's sangha in 1974. He attended the 1978 Shambhala Vajrayana seminary with Trungpa Rinpoche and has twice served as residential staff at Karmê Chöling. For the past several years, he has studied and taught at the Vajrayana Seminaries led by Trungpa Rinpoche's dharma heir, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. He is member of the core faculty charged with establishing a cycle of teaching at Karmê Chöling under the name Mukpo Institute.
