Vajrakilaya Abhisheka

with Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche

October 9 - 12, 2009

The Vajrakilaya tantra is of special importance to Shambhala Vajrayana practitioners because of its strong connection with the Shambhala terma. Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche encourages qualified tantrikas, especially Scorpion Seal practitioners, to attend the Abhisheka.

If you have received the Rigden Abhisheka and/or the Vajrayogini Abhisheka, you may attend the Abhisheka as a blessing, furthering or establishing a relationship with the short Vajrakilaya practices. There is no obligation to complete the retreat practice in the future.

Those attending the Abhisheka as a blessing, will arrive on Friday Oct. 9 and depart on Monday Oct. 12 (Thanksgiving day in Canada, Columbus Day in the US). Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche will confer the Vajrakilaya Abhisheka at Karmê Chöling on Oct. 11, 2009.

For more information, contact Ms. Dorothy Shostak at Karmê Chöling, 802-633-2384, or reception@karmecholing.org.

About Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche:
The Sakyong, Jamgön Mipham Rinpoche, is unique in that he bridges two worlds. He grew up in both the East and the West. The eldest son of the Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, who was instrumental in bringing Buddhism to the West, he holds the Mukpo family lineage, descending from the Tibetan warrior-king Gesar of Ling. He also holds the Kagyü and Nyingma lineages. He is the incarnation of Mipham the Great, who is revered in Tibet as an emanation of Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom. He is the head of the Shambhala Buddhist lineage and is spiritual director of Shambhala, a global network of meditation and retreat centers. He is the lineage holder of Naropa University.
